Many studies have suggested that the parts of the brain that control thinking and memory have greater volume in people who exercise versus people who don’t. Physical exercise is not only important for your body's health, it also helps your brain stay sharp. Aerobic exercise is great for the body and brain and acts as a "first aid kit" on damaged brain cells. 

Goals: While trying to stick to your gym commitment, eating healthier and pushing yourself through a 30 to 60 minute workout, your mind is also developing commitment, discipline and determination to push through non exercise related goals. 

Memory: Getting your heart rate up  improves blood flow to the brain, stimulates the growth of new brain cells and helps boost memory and overall brain function.

Focus: A daily workout routine helps your mind increase mental focus in numerous ways. It takes a great amount of concentration and attention to detail to schedule gym time around a very hectic daily schedule, lift weights properly and to breathe correctly to which is an art all by itself (if done correctly). Strength training helps your focus because it requires focus.
